A cereal box and 6 envelopes

I wanted to make an album for our recent camping trip but I didn't want to spend any money on it. I had seen a bunch of envelope albums online but I wanted my album to be bigger so I started playing around with some envelopes and adhesive and before too long I had an album that I am just thrilled with.

When the album is done it will hold 24+ pictures. If you need more room you could easily use more envelopes. I am just going to show you the basics. This album could be made anywhere since you don't need much to do it. I was talking to a good friend and I realized this album could even be done during a power outage or a camping trip ;)

Supplies used:

Cereal box (any chipboard would work)

6 envelopes (mine were 8 3/4x 5 3/4)

Patterned paper

adhesive

ruler

paper trimmer

BIA (or you could punch holes and use rings)

Scoring tool

Let's get started.

Here is the envelope. You can use any color because you will be covering it all up. The first thing you are going to do is cut off the flap. I used a ruler and craft knife.

Next you will score the envelope at 7 1/2". This give you plenty of room in the pocket so that you can have matted pictures or whatever else you want to add.

Next you add adhesive so that your fold will stay down this will also make one side a bit thicker which will help when you bind your album.

Last step for this post. You are going to cover your envelope using patterned paper. I used 12 pieces of paper cut down to 7 1/2 x 5 3/4. I used my ATG but any adhesive would work. The one thing you need to be watch out for is getting adhesive inside the envelope. I accidentally stuck a couple of my envelopes together with some ATG boogers. I sure do love my Undo. :P

In the next post I will talk about making the covers and binding it. Thanks for looking :)

Christmas gifts and stuff ;)

Here are 2 last minute cards and the clocks that I altered for my boys. I love the clocks! I did change the Star Wars clock after I took the pic. I added glitter on the hands. I used red, green and blue and they look light lighsabers :)

I used SCAL 2 for both of these clocks. There is a cool Star Wars font and a hwy. sign that comes with the shapes.

Both cards are made from scraps that I had. I think the penguin image is from Deb so I can't tell you who made it. The sentiment is a rub on.

I am loving the buckles on cards so if anyone knows of a place to get a bunch for a reasonable price please let me know :) Thanks for looking. Merry Christmas and may God bless you all!

2010 Mini Album

I love the way this turned out. You can make 2 of these with 4 sheets of PP and some CS scraps. I made the book with CDS. The paper is WeRMemory Keepers with DCWV CS. The flowers are from AE.
Thanks for looking :)

Get Your Kicks

Check out this album I made using CTMH paper from a wonderful friend of mine. I used CDS, SCAL 2, and my Cuttlebug. If you have any questions please let me know and be sure and tell me what you think.

All Boy a creepy, crawly mini album

I love the way this came out. I made the cut file in CDS and the papers are Bo Bunny and Bazzill. The lizard, frog and bug are traced onto shrinky dink plastic colored and then heated. Let me know what you think :)

Oh Baby! Mini album

I made this little album using CDS. It still needs ribbon but I don't want to go to the store today since I went last night to buy ribbon for D's album.

The carts used were Plantin, Accent Essentials and All Mixed Up. The printed paper is K & Co and the solid is Bazzill. I don't know how to post a cut file but if anyone wants it let me know and I can email it to you.

Let me know what you think and please feel free to ask if you have any questions :)
